Jon and I just came back from what, I believe, will be our last holiday together as a family of two (or three if you count Tom, but he didn’t come on holiday). We just spent a long weekend in the Forest of Dean and had a wonderful and peaceful time. I will make sure we remember those hours swimming quietly in the swimming pool or chilling in front of the roaring fire place… ๐
Pregnancy is going well and my belly is beginning to get properly big now! (see photo below). In my last couple of visits to the MDAU (or Triage, as they call it) my blood pressure readings have been slowly coming down, and in the last one on Friday last week it was my lowest yet at 146/75. However, they have also found traces of blood in my urine, which could mean an infection in the kidneys… They’ve sent my urine samples off for testing and hopefully they’ll come back clean ๐
Last Wednesday Jon and I had an appointment with Miss Nejad at the ante natal clinic. She is the specialist that I have been referred to regarding the pre-eclampsia, and she scanned me and had a proper look at Pixie and Dixie. The scan went without incident and she said that she was very happy with the results and we had not much to worry about. Both Pixie and Dixie are growing nicely and are exactly the size that they should be at this stage. Also the blood flow from the umbilical cord is perfect, so she had no concerns whatsoever.
NCT course is going well too, and last week we had a special session focused only on breastfeeding. It was really interesting and very reassuring, and we got to play with baby dolls too ๐
And this is it for now. We will be receiving the buggy and car seats later on this week, so hopefully Jon will be doing a review of the items soon! He hasn’t posted in here for a while ๐
I leave you with a photo of me from Saturday last week (27 weeks, 0 days in reality). Big belly and belly button kind of sticking out… gross! (I hate belly buttons in general, and mine in particular)
