First of all, apologies for the big gap without updating.. Jon and I have been in Spain spending Christmas with my family, and the chance to update the blog just didn’t occur.
Pregnancy is going well, however, a couple of days before leaving for Spain I ate something dodgy (I don’t recommend the calzone pizza from Pizza Express) and had the worst episode of food poisoning of my life. It was simply horrible and my GP thought it was gastroenteritis (it could have been, but it only lasted approximately 32 hours, whilst gastroenteritis lasts a week or so). My main concern was not being able to hold down any food… I thought that this would affect the twins! Just drinking water for a whole day is not healthy eating precisely.
But the following day, when we were leaving for Spain, I was feeling so much better. And by the time I got to my mum’s house at lunchtime, I was already eating properly ๐
Christmas in Spain was good, but after 5 days I was already looking forward to coming back home. It can get a bit overwhelming… Especially because my mum has already told everyone (and I mean EVERYONE in the town) about the pregnancy and it was the main topic of conversation most of the time… Not that I don’t like talking about it (I do) but it got a bit repetitive by day 2.
We had a funny episode one day at the fish market. Jon and I were with my mum buying seafood for Christmas Eve dinner and we saw a lady with a twin buggy in the same stall. Jon and I started looking at the buggy and started discussing it among ourselves. The lady noticed us looking at it, and I saw that she was getting suspicious, so I said to her: “So sorry, we’re not staring at your kids! It’s just that we’re having twins as well and we’re looking at your buggy”. Her face relaxed and she was actually really nice to me, telling me all about the pros and cons of that specific buggy (Jane twin two). It looked awesome but a bit too big for us (too long mainly); I think we’ve made up our minds in respect to the buggy, but we’re going to wait until the Baby and Toddler show in February before we actually buy it…
Pregnancy nags, 0. Although I’ve started being a tiny bit more aware of my pelvis, especially if I shuffle in a funny way when sitting down.
I am still tired, but not so knackered all the time as before. Now I notice how I’ve got a bit more energy during the day but I tire easily in the evening. But I won’t fool anyone either: I’ve been sleeping a lot this Christmas break, even more so when in Spain. We wouldn’t get up before 11am any day! We’re making the most out of it whilst we can!
I am updating the blog from my iPhone today, so the bump photo is slightly different today. It was taken last Saturday at my mum’s house, so theoretically the photo is from 15 weeks, not 16 ๐
Due date? At some point between May and June.
Boy or girl? Everybody keeps saying one of each.
Morning sickness? No, and I’m not expecting any from now on either.
Cravings? Nothing in particular, really.
Stretch marks? No. Also my mum has bought me a special cream that my niece used during her pregnancy and it worked wonders for her, so hopefully it will work for me too.
Miss anything? I missed being able to eat all kinds of forbidden foods over Christmas…
Sleep? I’ve been sleeping a lot but the quality of that sleep has not always been great.
Tiredness? Getting better but still tired.
Mood swings? Probably, I am not the one to judge and Jon is not around at the moment ๐
Baby movement? No, but I’ve been told that I may start feeling them soon!
Actual mood? Really excited.

You look lovely in that piccy honey ๐ x J
