So this morning at 5:45 was H-Hour to do the pregnancy test. I thought I had to do it with the first wee of the day, so when I woke up at 4:00 desperately needing to go to the loo I was a bit worried, so I also went downstairs and had a big glass of water just to make sure that I would have enough liquid in me for H-Hour.
So the alarm went and both Jon and I were ready, with the countdown timer and all, but I found it actually very difficult to pee in the stick, and unfortunately, the test didn’t work 🙁
There are two windows in the stick, the big one where you can see whether you are pregnant or not, and a smaller one next to it, which indicates that the test has worked. This smaller window has to have a vertical line if the test has been done correctly, so when -after 3 minutes first, and another 7 later- the little window had no line, we knew that the test had failed.
I have bought another one in the shop this morning, and we will try again later today (I then discovered that we you’re testing once your period is overdue -and mine is- you don’t need to do the test first thing in the morning; any time is ok). It is a shame though, because the first pregnancy test came free from the clinic, and this new one has cost me £8!
