Things have gone a bit quiet in the fertility front. We are still awaiting to hear from the PCT to see if our application for funding has been approved (although we were told that there shouldn’t be any problems, but those things take time anyway)
Something that may have delayed this a bit further than expected was that Gillian asked me to get an urine sample to test for Chlamydia as it seemed it was the only test that I hadn’t had done yet. I kind of sat on it for a few days thinking that it wasn’t that urgent. I was going to have it done when I came back from a mini-break in Motril, but I got a call one day from Gillian asking me to have it done as soon as possible as she could not send the funding application to the PCT until she had the results. Doh! I honestly didn’t realise the implications!
And not much more to tell for now. I have started taking “mum-to-be” supplements, especially for the folic acid, which is extremelly important for the development of the foetus and the sooner you start taking it, the better. On top of that, I continue taking my thyroid tablets (which, by the way, Gillian mentioned that my levels were high! And she had no idea of my year-long battle with my GP in order to get medication). I will be having another blood test to see how my thyroid levels are improving in a week’s time, and after that I will see my GP.
Hopefully, I will have heard from the PCT in a week or two, and from then on… the story will properly begin!
