Two and a half years later, we say good bye to the Baby Jogger City Select. Our very faithful pushchair that has been with us through thick and thin.
The twins have not used a pushchair since the summer. And even whilst we were in Spain, we found the pushchairs to be more of a hassle than anything else (by the way, we have also recently sold those two pushchairs too). So we gave it a very good clean, to the frame, wheels, washed all the fabrics… we also found all the accessories which we have had for the last two years but we never got to use, like the belly bars, feeding trays and raincovers, and put the whole thing for sale on ebay.
We looked at how much all the other pushchairs were selling for, and Jon and I agreed that putting a starting bidding price of £25o was more than fair enough, since there were so many accessories thrown in the package. We put the listing for 7 days, and slowly but steadily we started getting “watchers”!
On Thursday night I received a message from a couple who is expecting twins here in Basingstoke who wanted to come and see it, and if they were happy with it they would give us £300 cash for it. I discussed it with Jon (who was away in Germany in a business trip) and said yes. And finally, yesterday, the couple came to see it, and they loved it and they took it home!
I was actually very glad that it went to them. They seemed like a lovely couple, young professionals and local! So I hope they get as much use out of it as we did 🙂
I already did a review of the pushchair once we had had it for a year, and I think that my thoughts on it back then still prevail. However, we have been very happy with it, and the few cons that it had were not enough to make us change pushchairs.
Now we have a double pushchair (a mothercare one) that I bought second hand last year. It is a similar model to the Out ‘n’ About, but not as good. We have used it a few times in the past, because it’s got bigger wheels and it’s a bit more offroady, but I don’t really like it that much, and I don’t think the twins are as comfortable on it as they were on the Baby Jogger. Still, we are keeping it, just in case, as we don’t know when we might need a pushchair again. At the moment, Eric and Elisa are more than happy to walk everywhere.
