Apologies for not updating yesterday, but I worked from 7:45am to 18:45pm and when I got home I didn’t have the strength to go and sit down in front of the computer again…
So, as you can see from the photo… I AM PREGNANT! This is awesome news, as you can imagine…
I got home on Monday night, and Jon arrived like two minutes after me, which was fantastic, as I needed to pee but at the same time I wanted to wait for him so we could do the test together. So he arrived, I peed in a glass (so much easier!) and made sure that the pregnancy test stick got properly soaked with urine… I wasn’t ready to waste another test!
Waited three minutes and…. voilá!
We’re both so happy it’s unbelievable. We’ve told our families and some friends who have been aware of the process since day 1, but we’re not telling anyone else as things could still go wrong and then it would make the whole thing more complicated.
I have called both the Hampshire Clinic and the Wessex Fertility Clinic to inform them about the results, and they were both very pleased for us (plus I suppose positive pregnancy makes their statistics go up, which is good for them). I have my first scan at the Hampshire Clinic with Gillian on Monday the 29th. It will be an internal scan, which I am not crazy about, but she did say that it will be a bit gentler than previous ones.
On top of this, I need to continue with the crinone gel until Week 9 (which reminds me I need to find out how this “week” thing works… Which week am I in now? 2? 4?). She recommended that I get a prescription from my GP, as she could supply but their prescription costs £50! I booked an appointment with the Rooksdown surgery, but the earliest I could get was next Tuesday. In the meantime, I am going to try to get Gillian to give me a few that will last me until my appointment with the GP, as I only have 2 crinones left.
So, yeah, very very very happy and fingers crossed that everything continues to be ok during these first few weeks which are the “problematic” ones (when things could still go wrong…boooohh!)
